ODU Perry Library

I joined Old Dominion University as Associate University Librarian for Services in 2016 to instill a culture of engagement, assessment and innovation,

I was the Head of McLure Education Library at the University of Alabama, where I implemented a vision of becoming an “indispensable partner” of the College of Education.

In my previous role as the Research and Development Librarian at Kansas State University Libraries,I helped plan the library’s assessment strategy with my department and provide assessment services, including survey design, ethnographic studies, statistical analysis, and focus group moderating.

An active member of the American Libraries Association (ALA) since 2007, I was selected as an ALA Emerging Leader in 2010. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of the Library Leadership and Management Association (LLAMA) (2010 – 2013), a division of ALA, I chaired the association’s Diversity Task Force (2010 – 2011), and serve as a member of the LL&M Editorial Board (2011-2013). I served on the Editorial Board of Library Leadership and Management Journal (LL&M), the official journal of LLAMA, where I assumed the editorship of a column in the journal called “New Perspectives in Leadership”. I was elected the Chair Elect/Chair/Past-Chair of LLAMA’s Library Organization and Management (LOMS) Section (2013-2016). Currently, I am an elected ALA Councilor (2015-2018).
